Fundraiser for Madison Library Draws Large Crowds

Ambulance, Police Car, Bucket Truck – Oh My! 24 construction and utility vehicles lined the back lot of the YMCA for the return of Touch-A-Truck, a community event fundraiser for the Madison Public Library on Saturday, July 30.

A beautiful July Saturday brought out large crowds of families who lined up, eager for an opportunity to sit in their favorite trucks, work the controls, beep the horns and sirens, and participate in this fun family day. Children and adults alike participated in all the event activities, including Crafted of Madison and Madison NJ Rocks; balloon artists and temporary tattoos also added to the fun. Food trucks, ice cream trucks, and local restaurants served up delicious food for all to enjoy.

Touch-A-Truck, a fundraising event, was sponsored by the Friends of the Madison Public Library in cooperation with the Madison Area YMCA and the Madison Rotary. This fundraiser benefits many library offerings, particularly programs for children and teens, and expands the book, media, and digital collections. Mommy & Me Yoga, Rhyme Time, and the Children’s Summer Reading Program are favorite library-sponsored events funded by the Friends, as are the very popular museum passes and grab-and-go craft kits.
