Submitted by Chris Bjornstad

The Woman’s Club of Berkeley Heights, a 501(c)3 organization and member of the GFWC (Greater Federation of Women’s Clubs )and NJSFWC (New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Clubs) begins its 63rd year in September.

The members of the Club hold two fundraisers a year with the proceeds given to the Berkeley Heights Public Library, Rescue Squad, YMCA, and Education Foundation; the YWCA of Union County Domestic Violence Program; St. Joseph Social Service Center in Elizabeth; and a scholarship to a graduating senior from Governor Livingston High School.

On the social front members play round robin, duplicate bridge, and mahjong. We go to Hunterdon Hills Playhouse, have an international luncheon, a summer picnic, Holiday luncheon, and a Chinese Lunar New Year luncheon.

The Club meets the third Tuesday of the month at the YMCA of Berkeley Heights, 550 Springfield Ave., at 12:15 p.m.

We cordially invite residents of Berkeley Heights and the surrounding area to our General Meetings this Fall. On September 18, 2018 a presentation will be given by Tamara Slawney on “Bloom Where You Are Planted” and on November 20 speaker John Prescott will present “Women’s History of Union County.”

Any questions, call Carol at 908-464-2651. We hope to see some new faces in September!
