New Providence SENIOR HAPPENINGS
The DeCorso Community Center, home to the New Providence Senior Citizen Club, offers a variety of free classes and activities for New Providence seniors. All programs will be held at the DeCorso Community Center, 15 East Fourth Street, New Providence, unless otherwise noted. Upcoming Speakers
On Wednesdays at 11:00 a.m., the Club gathers for programs including speakers on a variety of topics, musical performances, or “Club Days” to celebrate Club members’ birthdays and socialize. Members stay afterwards to enjoy refreshments with old and new friends, and then to play Bingo beginning at 12:30 p.m. Upcoming programs include:
November 6 – “What’s Changed Since I Started Driving?” – Dennis Kelleher of TransOptions will give an informative and interactive driver safety presentation on the driving laws and vehicle technologies that have changed since seniors first got their licenses.
November 13 – Birthday Extravaganza – Please join us to celebrate November and December birthdays as well as “CHEERS TO 90 + YEARS!” We invite all members who are in their 90th decade to celebrate with trivia and music of the 1940s. Come reminisce and enjoy refreshments.
November 20 – “Laughter is the Best Medicine” – Overlook’s New Vitality Program will bring us Mindy Parisi, RN, MSN from Atlantic Homecare, to share the health benefits of humor.
