The Great War Film Festival at the Linden Public Library

To mark the 100th anniversary of the Armistice that ended the First World War, the Linden Public Library and the Union County Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs are proud to co-sponsor The Great War Centennial Film Festival. A series of nine films will be presented with the war as the central theme as seen from the French, British, American and German sides of the conflict. All Union County residents are urged to attend these films which will be introduced by John Prescott, director of the County’s Cultural Affairs Office. They will be shown every Friday afternoon in the Columbia Bank Room at Linden Public Library at 1:00 p.m. The series will include the following films:

September 7 – The African Queen; (1951; 105 minutes)

September 14 – Oh What a Lovely War; (1969; 144 minutes)

September 21 – All Quiet on the Western Front; (1930; 136 minutes)

September 28 – In Love and War; (1996; 113 minutes)

October 5 – Joyeux Noel; (2005; 116 minutes)

October 12 – Gallipoli; (1981; 110 minutes)

October 19 – Sergeant York; (1941; 134 minutes)

October 26 – War Horse; (2011; 146 minutes)

November – Wings; (1927; 144 minutes)
