The Great Pumpkin Carve Out Returns

Carved pumpkin contest and display and spooky movie; for all ages
The Great Pumpkin Carve Out will be at the Hanson Park held in Cranford, NJ on Saturday, October 22nd (rain date of October 29th). The pumpkin carving contest is open to all ages with awards given for funniest, scariest, and most original in age groups 4-8, 9-12, 13-17 and 18- adult. Drop off your creatively carved pumpkins from 10 -3 pm at Hanson Park, 38 Springfield Ave, Cranford on Saturday October 22nd along with a completed registration form. Stroll along the lighted pathway through the garden of Hanson Park to see the carved pumpkins on display, each on its own pedestals, from 6-9 pm (rain day of October 29th).
Bring your blankets for a big screen outdoor showing of the 1958 camp classic, THE BLOB, starring Steve McQueen. The movie, stroll and contest are all free. Hot cider will be available. Registration forms are available on line at www.jcas.org or from the Cranford Community Center, 220 Walnut Ave., Cranford before the event. Pumpkins can be picked up after the event.
This will be the fourth GREAT PUMPKIN CARVE out, which has drawn hundreds of visitors from throughout the area. This is a Jersey Central Art Studio’s (JCAS) Events, along with its cosponsors the Cranford Jaycees and the Friends of the Cranford Library.
JCAS is a group of artists and citizens dedicated to raising awareness of the arts and the artistic process as well as integrating the arts into the community through education, events and economic development. We see art as a vital component to our lives and one that will also enrich our community.
