THE GARDEN CLUB OF WATCHUNG MAKES A DIFFERENCE

We have made a difference in our community through beautification and education for the past 60 years. Residents can see deer resistant perennials and more in our garden behind the Watchung Arts Center. Our annual plant sale at Best Lake in May, was very successful, in spite of the weather. This past July, we sponsored a children’s program at the Watchung Library, “From Seeds to Table”. We are able to do this through our fund raisers. Our red, white and blue flowers on the Watchung Circle, planted in May, welcomes visitors and residents.
The Garden club of Watchung welcomes men and women to join our active club and become involved in adding beauty to our community. Join us for informative lectures, garden tours and workshops. Together we can protect our natural environment by planting flowers and shrubs that support the proliferation of our birds, bees and butterflies. We have an active Youth Gardening Group at Bayberry School for children in fourth grade.
Our field trips include visits to gardens, nurseries, arboretums, parks, historical sites, museums, for pleasure and to increase our gardening knowledge.
We visit Lyons Medical Center four times a year to make floral arrangements to beautify the chapel and community rooms for our veterans.
Our club is a member of The Garden club of New Jersey and the National Garden Clubs, Inc. which is the largest volunteer gardening organization in the world.
The Garden club of Watchung has been an active part of our community for 60 years. Visit our website, Facebook page or telephone 908-754-5766 for information about upcoming informative programs and membership information.
