Clark Township Police Department
A resident has reported receiving a call from an individual who attempted to represent that he was from the Township’s tax office.
The individual stated that the resident was delinquent on their property taxes and that payment had to be made immediately. Our best advice to you when receiving a call from anyone requesting personal identification or any kind of payment is to hang up, and under no circumstance should you provide any personal information. If you feel that the call might have been from a legitimate organization that you do business with then call them back on that company’s business line and confirm the call. These types of scams are normally directed at the elderly within our community so please do not keep this information to yourself. Please share this with the seniors in your family, your senior friends and/or neighbors. Remember that seniors are more likely not to be using social media so they may not see posted ALERTS.
