Teens Teach Tech to Seniors

We can all feel left behind by the world of technology sometimes, but our senior citizens are the group that feels it the most.

Summit resident and 10th grader Michael Petrides founded Teens Teach Tech to Seniors after working in the Upper East Side of Manhattan to help senior citizens with technology problems. Michael said he “enjoyed the hours he spent with the seniors, who had questions I could answer, but to them were incredibly confusing. I wondered if there was a program like this one in Summit.”

Now once a month, seniors have been coming to the Summit Recreation Center and meeting one-on-one with Michael and his group of volunteers to ask whatever questions they may have about their devices or technology. Michael said “This experience has been fulfilling for me. Those that come with their questions are looking for some help, patience, and understanding with their questions. It has been a lot of fun and I know that there are more people to help here.”
