Summit Police vehicles win awards at Regional Law Enforcement Car Show

Summit, NJ – On Friday, September 11th, the Summit Police Department participated in the 20th Annual Police Cruise Night held at Faulkner Buick GMC in West Chester, Pennsylvania. The Cruise Night is one of the largest law enforcement car shows in the region and features police vehicles from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, and New York.
The Police Department entered the show with a 2013 Dodge Charger Pursuit Edition marked patrol car and a custom 2006 Dodge Magnum D.A.R.E. vehicle. The D.A.R.E. vehicle was graciously donated by Summit resident, Jeffrey Kaufman, and his family. With its custom build “gull-wing” style doors, special two-tone paint work, and powerful HEMI engine, the Magnum impressed attendees and judges at the show and took awards for “Best Special Purpose Vehicle” and “Ladies Choice.” “We are very proud of our advanced fleet of police vehicles, especially our custom D.A.R.E. vehicle,” said Chief of Police Robert Weck. “Participation in a regional community event such this year’s Cruise Night highlights our Department’s commitment to continuing our tradition of law enforcement excellence. We are grateful to the Kaufman family for their donation of the car which has allowed us to explore new and exciting ways to build relationships with our City’s residents and the community.”
The D.A.R.E vehicle will be on display, accompanied by Officers from Department, this Sunday, September 20, 2015, as part of Summit Downtown, Inc.’s Annual Classic Car Show.
