Summit Hosts Annual National Night Out Against Crime, August 6th
The Summit Police Department and Department of Community Programs are hosting Summit’s annual National Night Out Against Crime on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 from 6 to 9 p.m. on the Village Green, located at 356 Broad St. in Summit, NJ.
Summit joins thousands of communities around the United States in celebrating National Night Out, a community-building event that takes place annually on the first Tuesday in August. Featuring a variety of municipal, county, state, and federal-level agencies, National Night Out provides a chance for community members to come together to view displays and demonstrations by Union County SWAT, NJ State Police, the FBI, and K-9 along with Summit Police, Fire, EMS, and Public Works.
Food trucks, bounce houses, a Dunk-a-Cop Tank and other amusements will open at 6PM, followed by the annual Blessing of the Badges at 7PM. The band Element K will perform on the main stage from 7:15 to 8:45 p.m. The Chris Clark Bicycle Stunt Show will perform from 7:30 to 8 p.m. Free hot dogs will be provided at Summit PAL food cart.
Summit’s 2019 National Night Out is sponsored by Overlook Medical Center, Sunshine Rehabilitation Center, Paul Ippolito Memorial, and the Summit PAL.
In the event of rain, National Night Out Against Crime will be rescheduled to Wednesday, August 7, 2019.
