Students Plant Tree at Town Hall

In honor of Earth Day, fourth grade students from Connecticut Farm Elementary School planted a weeping cherry tree on the side of Union Town Hall. The Township of Union Environmental Committee organized the tree-friendly program.

“In order to best protect our environment, the work starts with our youngest generation,” said Manuel Figueiredo, Mayor. “Today was an amazing opportunity to educate our youth and give them hands-on experience with the importance of planting trees and how it impacts our local ecosystem.”

In this program, students were educated about the weeping cherry tree and the importance of planting trees. Mahon Landscaping provided the tree.
