He was Chief of the Stirling Fire Company from 1962 – 1971, the longest consecutive tenure in company history. In fact, from 1939 through 1978, either he or one of his brothers, Dan, or Frank, served as chief for 30 of those years. He is a life member, and the longest serving member at 79 years. He was the township’s first fire marshal and was instrumental in passing the no open burning ordinance after large brush fires in the early 60s. Thank you Chief Cerulli for your service to our township and our country. Thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends, Rest In Peace Chief.”
