Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School’s amazing high school athletes took center stage at the July regular meeting of the Fanwood Mayor and Council held on Monday, July 17th, 2023.

Record setting track and field achievements by Boys’ and Girls’ Track-and-Field athletes were recognized by the Council which presented proclamations congratulating them on the following:

  • Jenai Berry for State Sectional Championship in the 800-meter race and for setting a new SPF High School record in the 800
  • Jenai Berry, Delaney Farley, Keira Kelly and Mia Trombetta for being named All Americans or their performance in the 800-meter Sprint Medley Relay
  • Nate Rayan for one amazing achievement after another in the 110 high hurdles winning numerous meets, setting meet records and winning a spot in the upcoming U20 Pan American Games in Puerto Rico
  • Nate Rayan, Ameen Zubair, Justice Larkin and Ian Hopkins for their performance in the Shuttle Hurdle Relay winning Union County and National Championships
  • Kieran McElroy Barker and members of the Boys’ Varsity Volleyball team for a 31-1 season which brought them Group Three victories and accolades for outstanding teamwork
