Social Concerns Committee Thanksgiving Giveaway

St. Theresa Church Social Concerns Committee

On November 18th,  2023, the Social Concerns Committee of St. Theresa church held our annual Thanksgiving turkey and basket giveaway for Union County residents.

We want to thank the Teamsters Local 863 from Mountainside for their generous donation of 100 turkeys; the Kenilworth PBA, with assistance from Mark Corrella of the Garlic Rose in Cranford, who donated 160 turkeys; and the office of Kenilworth Mayor, Linda Karlovitch, which donated a large number of roasting chickens and food items.

We also owe much thanks to the Social Concerns Committee members who volunteered many days and hours organizing this annual giveaway, the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, and all the many individuals who helped us in one way or another.

We were able to serve about 225 individual families with baskets and turkeys, as well as sending over 60 turkeys, and boxes of food to St. Joseph’s Service Center in Elizabeth, and Covenant House.
