SCLSNJ Staff Donate to Animal Shelter for 23rd Year

Somerset County Library System of New Jersey (SCLSNJ) employees love dogs. And, cats. And, turtles. Along with rabbits and gerbils. Birds, too. Really, any creature great or small. And, so, for the twenty-third year, Library System employees did what they could to help our local furry, feathered, four-legged friends.

“Once again SCLSNJ employees reached into their collective hearts and donated necessary items to the Somerset County Animal Shelter (SRAS) in Bridgewater,” said Charlene Perkins, SCLSNJ employee and donation drive coordinator.

Types of items donated included: bags of dry dog and cat food, cans of cat food, kitten treats, jars of peanut butter, nylabones and bully sticks, cat litter, paper towels and paper plates, laundry detergent, and bleach. The estimated weight of collected and donated items was around 175 pounds.

Continued Perkins, “It’s always a pleasure and a privilege for SCLSNJ employees to help our community shelter this way, and to also shine a light on the good works performed by SRAS employees and volunteers.”
