Sanford E. Garrett Jr. named Pastor
The First Baptist Church of Rahway founded in 1833, has called Reverend Sanford E. Garrett Jr. as the 27th Pastor. Pastor Garrett has worked in the gospel ministry for more than 30-years as an Associate Minister, Youth Pastor, Evangelist, Director of Christian Education, and teacher, under Dr. James W. Ealey of the Second Baptist Church in Rahway, New Jersey.
Pastor Garrett is married to his college sweetheart, Pamela Garrett, and they are the proud parents of four children. He has served as a Mentor for Young Men at the Rahway Intermediate School under the direction of Principal Johnson (Now Retired). Pastor Garrett and Mrs. Garrett also serve on the Board of Directors for Greater Life, Inc., Community Center in Newark, New Jersey. Greater Life is a faith based community center whose mission is to reach and serve indigent, at risk, disadvantaged or impoverished youth, parents, and seniors.
