Flowers of Hope are Blooming in Roselle Park

Roselle Park Girl Scouts Flowers of Hope

Roselle Park Girl Scout troop 40773 recently earned their Flower Badge by learning about how flowers grow, what they’re made up of, and why they’re important. For their final project of the year, the troop decided to grow a message of positivity, using flowers, in their community. The girls chose the phrase “Where flowers grow, so does hope”. The scouts made posters using the phrase and decorated them with colorful flowers.

Each poster was then hung in their windows at home. The girls hope their message spreads and they see more flowers of hope sprout up in windows throughout town.

Jayme Negron, a leader of the troop said “Our troop has fifteen girls. All of them have something different to share with the world. But, just like flowers, they are beautiful, unique and vital. They have made it through a pandemic and are still flourishing and full of hope. All of the leaders are so proud of them.” She continued, “We can all use a little hope these days. What better way to spread it than with flowers?”.

The scouts are asking people in the community to continue to spread hope by sharing their message and displaying “Where flowers grow, so does hope” on posters in their own windows and to make them as bright and colorful as possible.
