ALJ Class of 2020 Valedictorian and Salutatorian
Clark Public Schools is proud to announce 2019-2020 Arthur L. Johnson High School’s valedictorian Robert Lukasiewicz and salutatorian Heidi Compton.
“I am so proud of Bobby and Heidi,” Principal Jennifer Feeley said. “They have modeled how to excel in academics while still being active in sports and extracurricular activities. They are great representatives of Arthur L. Johnson and the graduating class of 2020.”
Robert Lukasiewicz is the top-ranked senior and will lead the way to graduation in June 2020. He has earned the highest cumulative grade point average for his four years at ALJ. In addition to working towards an AP Capstone Diploma, he has completed fourteen AP courses throughout his high school career. He plays an active role as an academic student achieving inductions into the National Honor Society, of which he is Vice President, Science Honor Society of which he is President, and Italian Honor Society of which he is President. His high academic achievements are balanced by his involvement in extracurricular activities such as: Varsity Tennis of which he is captain, Key Club, Italian Club, Science League, and Varsity Basketball Team. In Robert’s junior year, he was awarded the Dwight D. Eisenhower Award. The Dwight D. Eisenhower award identifies a high school junior who exhibits exceptional performance and potential in the areas of academics, athletics, community service, good citizenship and leadership. Robert will be studying engineering at Notre Dame in the fall.
Heidi Compton will be graduating Arthur L. Johnson High School as 2019-2020 ALJ salutatorian. Heidi’s stellar academic efforts at Arthur L. Johnson High School have led her to inductions into the National Honor Society where she serves as Secretary; the Science National Honor Society; the Italian Honor Society; and Tri-M, our Music Honor Society. Heidi also participates in activities that highlight her leadership ability, communication skills, and passions. These activities include our Varsity Field Hockey Team of which she is the Captain, President of the Senior Class, Science League, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Choir, Student Council, Recycling Club, Italian Club of which she is the President, Core Team at St. Agnes Church, Heroes and Cool Kids, and Peer Leadership. Volunteering occupies much of Heidi’s time. This past summer, for example, she created and led an environmental program for children at our local library that included weekly lessons and activities. Her AP Capstone research study also had an environmental focus. She has been an active member helping others in her community volunteering at Home for Good Dog Rescue and various food and clothing drives. This coming fall she will attend Vassar College to major in English and Political Science while also playing Division III Field Hockey.
