Get Ready, the Summit Free Market is Now on Facebook

The Summit Free Market is Now on Facebook

The City of Summit’s extremely popular Summit Free Market program is now on Facebook as the group Virtual Summit Free Market. The COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic has forced cancelation of the spring 2020 event and will impact the possibility of hosting a fall event in its new building at the Transfer Station. The online option is a way for Summit residents to continue to share no longer needed items and for others to reuse them.

The Summit Free Market is a student-run initiative that hosts seasonal events at the Transfer Station where residents are able to bring reusable, yard-sale quality items to share, and take whatever they may want or need at no charge. Since its inception in 2008, the Summit Free Market has served more than 6,000 residents and has kept over 140 tons of reusable material from the waste stream.
