The Berkeley Heights School District will be accepting online applications in January for its Preschool Program for the 2019-2020 school year.
To be eligible, applicants must be residents of Berkeley Heights Township and have birth dates between October 2, 2014, and October 1, 2016. General education students will be selected for this program by lottery. The lottery drawing will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at Mary Kay McMillin Early Childhood Center. Parents/guardians of applicants are welcome but not required to be present to be eligible for admission to the program. Students with special needs will also be included in the Preschool Program as determined by the District Child Study Team.
The Preschool Program will consist of four sections of mixed groupings of three- and four-year old children. Classes will meet four days per week, Monday through Thursday, from 8:45 to 11:15 a.m. for the morning session or from 12:10 to 2:40 p.m. for the afternoon session. Requests for morning or afternoon session placement cannot be accommodated.
The online application is located on the Mary Kay McMillin Early Childhood Center website at www.bhpsnj.org/mcmillin under the “Registration” link. The application deadline is January 7, 2019. A birth certificate and proof of residency will be required along with a non-refundable deposit of $225 onlyfor those students admitted to the program. This deposit will be applied to the first month’s tuition. A tuition fee of $375 per month will be charged for participation in this program during the 2019-2020 school year.
