Register for a Free 4 Day Summer Camp Experience at Turtle Back Zoo

he Kenilworth Public Library invites children and teens to register for an opportunity to participate in a free 4 day camp experience at Turtle Back Zoo located in West Orange, NJ. The Raph Errington Foundation will provide funding for 40 children and teens to gain an appreciation for wildlife and the natural world through fun and educational activities.

The camp experience will be held on July 1, 2, 3 and 5, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Free bus transportation will be provided. Drop off and pick up will take place at The Kenilworth Public Library. A $10.00 deposit will be required at the time of registration. The deposit will be refunded to all children and teens who complete the 4 day camp experience.

This program will be open to children and teens entering grades 3 – 8 in September 2019.

Camp groups will consist of 15 third and fourth grade participants, 15 fifth and sixth grade participants, and 10 seventh and eighth grade participants.

Campers will be introduced to the extraordinary world of animals, nature, and science. They will enjoy age appropriate camp activities that include games, teacher-led lessons, behind-the-scenes visits, up-close animal encounters, hands-on science projects, and fun crafts. Children and teens will learn about the responsibilities of a zoologist, animal scientist, and zookeepers.

Registration is in person only at Kenilworth Public Library beginning on Friday, February 1, 2019.
