Garden State Film Festival
New Jersey’s Premier Independent Film Festival is celebrating its 21st Anniversary March 23 – 26. The internationally recognized Garden State Film Festival (GSFF) celebrates the independent film genre by bringing a carefully curated and enriching selection of original works from locally produced filmmakers as well as from around the world.
Among the selection of over 230 feature length and short films, videos, documentaries, comedies, children’s, thrillers, student films and “Home-Grown” films shot in NJ. The Garden State Film Festival is pleased to announce that the film Fa La La HO HO HO: Music Video directed by Rahway resident, Ed Kessel will screen at this year’s festival. Cheer on your hometown heroes who have put so much time and talent into these productions.
“We are extremely proud to present Fa La La HO HO HO: Music Video as a part of our 21st Annual Film Festival, and to share this work with our global audience,” says Lauren Concar Sheehy, the festival’s Executive Director.
Fa La La HO HO HO: Music Video will screen on March 25, 2023 in the screening block from 12:15 -2:30 p.m. at Asbury Lanes, Asbury Park.
The film’s subject is: This music video was produced for the Sharpe Family Singers (featuring Logan Sharpe) with a guest appearance by well known composer, Jim Brickman. In this story, the family is filming a Christmas Music Video to their song Fa La La HO HO HO. The story revolves around Logan who is18 and not that into Christmas anymore. Throughout the course of “filming the video”, for a very specific reason, Logan rethinks how he feels about Christmas. The story develops over the course of the song and features some classic humor the Sharpe Family is known for. The entire video was filmed in NJ, written and directed by a NJ production company (Sound Imagination | Imagination Video), the director, DP, editor, choreographer, crew and almost the entire cast is from NJ and features the Sharpe Family Singers who live in NJ.
“The upcoming 2023 Festival adds a new venue and a return to an in-person only event to experience 237 films from 23 countries over four days in nine venues hosting parties, professional panels, events, special honors and more,” says Lauren Concar Sheehy, the festival’s Executive Director.
Following 2022’s successful event, this year’s 21st Anniversary celebration, will include world premieres, celebrities, industry panels, parties, and networking, along with entertainment for all. Catch the not to be missed panel, Behind the Lens with Ron Vidor, Cinematographer on blockbusters like Jaws, Stand by Me and Romancing the Stone just to name a few on Saturday, March 25th at 9:30 am in the Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel Johnny and June Room.
