Fire Safety Month
Rahway Public Schools
The Rahway Fire Department recently visited Franklin Elementary School in Rahway to celebrate Fire Safety Month. Firefighters explained the fire truck and discussed fire safety with all of the kindergarten and prekindergarten children.
The children learned important fire safety tips, such as crawling under smoke to exit a building, dialing 911 in case of an emergency, and stopping, dropping, and rolling if their clothes catch fire.
The children were also able to see the firefighters’ gear, which helped them to recognize a firefighter and alleviate any fears they may have during a rescue. They were very excited about the visit and learned a lot about fire safety.
