The Rahway Chamber of Commerce hosted its 3rd Annual “Rahway Day” celebration, themed “Think Rahway First”. The event’s mission is to encourage residents to shop locally. It ran from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Rahway Public Library. The popular “Amazing Rahway Race” downtown scavenger hunt sponsored by The Rahway Friends of the Library was also a part of the day.
“Rahway Day has become a staple of this community and the residents have come to love it and look forward to it! Every year attendance has grown and had amazing weather and an excellent turn out this year,” stated Carmen McClendon, Chair of the Rahway Day Planning Committee. “We would especially like to thank the all sponsors, local businesses, organizations, City of Rahway, and members of the planning committee for their support and helping to make this event a success.”
All the Rahway Day favorite activities such as the Rahway High School Robot, moon bounces, face painting, raffle prizes, and food vendors were back to delight attendees of all ages. In addition our local businesses, community organizations, and government entities will were on hand to display their products and services. Entertainment included Grammy nominated Junior Mack, Jazz Duo Karickter, Rahway Singer/Songwriter Matt Marlinski, Aussie Rocker Brian McVernon, Contento Dance, Rahway High School, Rahway Dance Theater, Impact 21/DASH, and Zumba and Hip Hop demos by the YMCA.
Admission to Rahway Day is free and open to the public.
