“garage” by Rahway Native Phil E. Eichinger
Rahway actor/writer Phil E. Eichinger has released his award winning short film “garage”.
Garage was filmed in Rahway in November of 2018 and has been premiering at numerous festivals throughout the United States in 2019. Phil has already been given a Best Actor award as well as a few nominations for the same category along with Best Film.
“I call this film… the little engine that could. It took a few months for it to get into its first festival, but now it is picking up steam and I am stoked about the recognition it’s getting.”
The film is semi-autobiographical and will continue to play throughout the festival circuit deep into 2020.
Phil began his career in 2006. After graduating from Monmouth University a handful of years earlier, acting fell into his lap. “I recently returned from a hockey tryout in Canada and knew I was registered for Acting 101, just for the hope of it being entertaining (It was either that or Italian.) Upon my return, I chose to stay enrolled in the class and not continue to play hockey professionally, in what now is a defunct league.” Since that moment, his career quickly accumulated more jobs than not. “My first huge job was a nine month contract with George Street Playhouse.” Today his impeccable dedication to his craft continues to exude major strides. “It’s not a sprint, but a marathon and I’m shining on the progress that I have been making.”
Phil has previously appeared on Gotham (FOX), Difficult People (Hulu), Law & Order: SVU (NBC), Do No Harm (NBC), Taxi Brooklyn (NBC) and White Collar (USA). The former Semi-Professional hockey player has been a resident of Rahway since 2011.
Phil is represented by Maultsby Talent and Abrams Artists Agency. You can check him out and “garage” at phileichinger.com or follow him @PhilEichinger on Instagram.
