Walkers Make Strides to Raise Awareness of Preeclampsia

Advocates for the Preeclampsia Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing maternal and infant illness and death due to preeclampsia, a life-threatening disorder of pregnancy, made strides on May 18, 2019 at beautiful Oak Ridge Park in Clark, NJ to raise awareness at the annual Promise Walk for Preeclampsia. The walkers joined thousands of other participants around the country who are walking in May and June to support innovative research and raise public awareness about the warning signs and symptoms of preeclampsia.

The event has raised over $21,000 to date and had more than 200 participants, making an impact in their local community. Jaye Wilson, of Linden, was the mission family at the event and shared about her own experiences with Preeclampsia. Mayor Armstead, Councilwoman Hickey, and Chief David Hart were in attendance.

The Promise Walk for Preeclampsia fundraising season runs through August 31, 2019. For more information or to contribute to the Central and North Jersey walk, please visit promisewalk.org/NewJersey.
