Linden Police Officers, dignitaries, colleagues, families, and friends convened this on September 1st at Linden City Hall to witness the promotion of Linden’s first African-American officer to the position of Police ChiefJonathan R. Parham, an 18- year veteran of the department, was sworn in as the new chief in front of a large crowd of well-wishers.
Officer Joseph K. Kaulfers, who is assigned to the FBI Joint-Terrorism Task Force in Newark, was elevated to the position of Detective.
Also promoted were Captain Michael F. Saake, Lieutenant William Mack, and Sergeant Monika Oliveira.
