National Poison Prevention Poster Contest winners Announced
During National Poison Prevention Week, representatives from the NJ Poison Control Center came to talk to the students at Franklin Elementary School in Rahway. 3rd-grade students learned about poison prevention and some tips to protect themselves and their loved ones. Students signed a contract that they understood the dangers of poisons and that they would act responsibly. The students then participated in a poster contest.
Poisoning is now the leading cause of death from injuries in the United States, as reported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Center for Health Statistics. Together we can reduce poisonings that can cause death and injuries in the United States.
