OCTOBER TRIP TO MOHEGAN SUN CASINO AND DECEMBER ‘ENCHANTED HOLIDAY SAMPLER’ TRIP TO LANCASTER COUNTY, PA.TO BENEFIT HISTORIC NITSCHKE HOUSE

The Kenilworth Historical Society will host bus trips to Mohegan Sun Casino (Uncasville, Conn.) on Sat., Oct. 28, 2017, and to the National Christmas Center, Shady Maple Smorgasbord and Kitchen Kettle Village (Lancaster County, Pa.) on Sat., Dec. 2, 2017.
The Oct. 28 Mohegan Sun trip will depart Kenilworth (St. Theresa’s School parking lot) at 8 a.m. and return to Kenilworth at approximately 9 p.m. Cost of $55 includes comfortable motor coach transportation, an approximate six-hour visit to the casino, which additionally houses a wide range of distinctive shops and popular restaurants, a $15 coupon for the casino’s sumptuous buffet, another type of meal or shopping, and a $10 coupon for free bets.
The Dec. 2 Lancaster County “Enchanted Holiday Sampler” trip will depart Kenilworth (St. Theresa’s School parking lot) at 7:15 a.m. and return to Kenilworth at approximately 8 p.m. Cost of $85 includes comfortable motor coach transportation, admission to the National Christmas Center, which features 15 main galleries of life-sized exhibits celebrating the magic and memories, history and traditions of Christmas, a 1950s replica Woolworth’s 5&10 store — and more; a sumptuous feast at Shady Maple Smorgasbord (Lancaster County’s largest smorgasbord) featuring 200 ft. of buffets with more than 100 selections; and a visit to Kitchen Kettle Village, which has more than 40 specialty shops and offers an array of holiday festivities. There are extraordinary gift shops at all three stops.

Proceeds will benefit the Kenilworth Historical Society’s historic Oswald J. Nitschke House (c. 1880) by helping defray the cost of an elevator that makes the recently restored “living history” museum and cultural arts center fully accessible to everyone.
