NY Jets Honor Linden Police Officers

On October 20, 2016 the NY Jets Law Enforcement & Military Liaison, Steven Castleton, on behalf of the NY Jets, presented the Linden Police Officers who took down the terror suspect, Ahmad Khan Rahami, on September 19th, 2016, with Jets hats and a signed Jet football by Mohammad Wilkerson, a former Linden High School football player. Mr. Castleton a former Law Enforcement Officer honored the officers, thanked them for their service, and for keeping the residents of Linden and the tri-state area safeOn Monday, December 5th, 2016 these officers have been invited to attend the NY Jets home game against the Indianapolis Colts. They will be following the NY State Troopers and leading the players onto the field from the Tunnel along with other First Responders from the Tri- State Area, who will be blanketing the football field with the American Flag.
New York Jets Invite Linden Hero Officers to Home Football Game December 5th Honoring First Responders.
On October 20, 2016, Steve Castleton, the New York Jets Military/Law Enforcement Liaison Representative, came to Linden City Hall to present Mayor Derek Armstead and the Linden Police Department with an invitation to the December 5th Jets home game honoring first responders.
Castleton brought NY Jets hats for the four hero officers involved in the September 19th shootout with bombing suspect Ahmad Rahimi. He also presented the Linden mayor and the Police Department with an autographed Jets football signed by defensive lineman and Linden resident, Muhammad Wilkerson. Wilkerson signed the football, “Thanks for Keeping Us Safe”.
Castleton told the audience that the honored officers will emerge from the tunnel at the beginning of the game following a contingent of NJ State Police motorcycles and will be accompanied by other first responders.
Castleton added that the Jets owner, Woody Johnson, is a big supporter of law enforcement and the military and congratulated the officers on behalf of the Jets organization.
Mayor Armstead and Police Chief Parham both echoed these sentiments that they are very proud of the work that these officers performed on an otherwise normal September morning.
