North Plainfield School District Honors Crossing Guards

Submitted by NPF Schools

When a school looks for heroes, North Plainfield students look out the classroom windows to watch their crossing guards in action.  What better way to honor this group of dedicated individuals than to invite them into school for a “Thank you” ceremony.  Invitations were sent to twenty-four crossing guards in North Plainfield inviting them to Stony Brook School for an all school assembly.  As the students cheered and applauded, each crossing guard received a framed certificate from the district’s Safe Routes to Schools Program.  As an added treat, Maschio’s Food Service donated coupons for free coffee and bagels at North Plainfield High School.  “Every year we honor the heroes of North Plainfield, our Crossing Guards.  We are so grateful for their dedication and so happy to have them visit us at Stony Brook School,” stated Principal Cathy Kobylarz.
