New Providence Police Raise Money to Support Law Enforcement United Honoring Fallen Officers on Cycling Tour to DC

By Maryanne Christiano-Mistretta

Three New Providence New Jersey police officers, Patrolman Joseph DiParisi, Patrolman Nicholas Guerriero, and Patrolman TJ Hoppe took a four-day bicycle trip to Washington, D.C. during Police Week, May 9 to 12, 2018. They were accompanied by Corporal Chad Wilson who rode in the support truck with supplies. They rode on behalf of fallen officers, supporting Law Enforcement United.
Each officer had to raise at least $500 to benefit the cause, but according to Chief Anthony Buccelli they raised much more.
“It’s a worthwhile cause. We support it wholeheartedly, we support their efforts,” said Buccelli, adding that “it’s a little special for the guys” because of fallen officer Matthew Tarentino from Summit, who was killed in a car accident last year. “They worked close with him.”
