In Centennial Park, a steel girder from Ground Zero is the centerpiece of a memorial honoring six residents who died at the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001: Gerard J. Coppola, Richard A. Dunstan, Michael Gogliormella, Robert Wayne Hobson, III, Susan D. Murray and William Tselepis.
A plaque reads: “The people of New Providence dedicate this artifact from the World Trade Center to the memory of our friends and neighbors lost in the attack on our country on September 11, 2001. God bless them and the United States of America.”
