Natalie McBride Wins Union County Poetry Contest

(above) Natalie McBride, a sixth grader, at Carl H. Kumpf Middle School won third place in the 2016 Union County Arbor Day Poetry Contest. Her poem “Trees” was written in honor of Arbor Day to show the importance of trees and explain the crucial role they play in our environment. She was honored at an awards ceremony where her poem was featured. Ms. Casale, Natalie’s teacher, stated, “Natalie’s poem was very well-written. It not only captured the beauty of trees, but it also explained their importance to us. Our school is extremely proud of her achievement.”
