Mountainside Fire Prevention Week & Open House

Join the Mountainside Fire Department on Friday, October 11th, 2019, for the annual Open House. Tour the Fire House, Check out the tools and equipment, and enjoy an interactive experience in the Fire Safety House.

Event begins at 7pm. Refreshments will be served.

Why do we have Fire Prevention Week? (10/06 thru 10/12/2019)

Firefighters provide lifesaving public education in an effort to drastically decrease casualties caused by firesFire Prevention Week is observed each year during the week of October 9th in commemoration of the Great Chicago Fire, which began on October 8, 1871, and caused devastating damage.

About the Mountainside Fire Department

Founded in 1910, the Mountainside Volunteer Fire Department is located in Mountainside, NJ. Today, the department serves the Mountainside community of 7,000 and covers approximately 4.1 square miles. In addition, the fire department is responsible for responding to fires in the Watchung Reservation and serious motor vehicle accidents on a 2.7 mile stretch of State Highway 22.
