Mountainside Community Honors the Legacy of John Huss with Memorial Benefit

Hussfest 2024

The Mountainside community will come together on May 18, 2024, to honor the memory and celebrate the life of beloved resident, John Huss, with a special memorial benefit. The event, organized to commemorate John’s significant contributions to the community, will take place at the Mountainside Elks Lodge starting at 6:00 PM.

John Huss, a cherished member of the Mountainside community, tragically passed away last fall after bravely battling cancer. Throughout his life, John exemplified the spirit of selflessness and dedication, actively participating in various community endeavors. His involvement with organizations such as the Boy Scouts, the Elks, and numerous town initiatives left an indelible mark on those around him.

In remembrance of John’s legacy and his unwavering commitment to service, the community has established the John Huss Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded annually to a graduating senior from Mountainside who attends Governor Livingston High School, embodying the same qualities of integrity, compassion, and leadership that defined John’s life.

The memorial benefit on May 18th will not only serve as a tribute to John’s remarkable legacy but also as an opportunity for the community to come together in support of a cause that was dear to his heart. Through this event, we aim to honor John’s memory while ensuring that his legacy of service and generosity continues to inspire future generations.
