Susan Collyer the First Girl to Play Mountainside Youth Baseball
The Mountainside Youth Baseball Association honored Susan Collyer, the first girl to walk onto the field. The ceremony was held on June 26, 2019, during the Cal Ripken District Tournament Championship game. Collyer’s family was in attendance for the unveiling of the memorial sign and to watch Mountainside’s Green Machine play. A round of applause was held in lieu of a moment of silence for her memory.
