Marianne Jennings, resident of Mountainside, will be exhibiting a collection of her hand made jewelry as part of her Master’s Seminar: The Exhibition at Kean University at the James Howe Gallery, Vaughn Eames Building. This is the culminating requirement for the graduating Master’s degree candidates. Open to the public April 15 through May 9, 2018, the opening reception will be held Sunday April 15, 1 to 4 p.m. with comments by the exhibiting artists at 2 p.m.
The eclectic show of wearable metal art entitled “Nature’s Poison” was inspired in part by Mrs. Jennings’ fascination with unsolved murders and mysterious deaths combined with naturally beautiful, but poisonous plants.
The artist’s use of tools of the trade include saws, blades, wires, hammers, poisonous seeds, and solder and has studied under the direction of Professor Jennifer Crupi at Kean University since 2015.
Mrs. Jennings will receive her Masters of Fine Arts degree in May. Visit her website mariannejenningsstudio.com to see more of her work.
