Millburn High School Teacher Deborah Zitomer Receives Education Award

Deborah Zitomer Honored

Millburn Public Schools

Congratulations to Millburn High School Social Studies Teacher Deborah Zitomer on being selected to receive the 2024 Elizabeth A. Allen Women in Education Award. This award is conferred by the New Jersey Education Association Women in Education Committee, and it honors an individual in NJ who promotes women’s rights and equality for all, particularly in education. Ms. Zitomer was recognized for being a staunch advocate for women’s rights in school and the workplace. “As a leader in her district, she has set it as a priority to ensure women have a voice, are protected, and become role models for the next generation,” noted the committee.

Ms. Zitomer teaches Women’s Studies, U.S. History 1 and 2. She has been an active club advisor and supporter of students’ interests since she arrived here in 2006. Our students are so fortunate to have a teacher like Ms Zitomer who teaches her students to advocate for themselves. The award will be presented in January.
