Students win National Medalist Awards

Two of Millburn High School’s visual artists have been notified that they received the very prestigious National Medalist Award for the Scholastic Art and Writing Competition. Junior Riana Joseph earned a Silver award for her piece entitled Heritage. Erika Hsu Kasuga,  a junior who has returned to her native Japan, earned one Gold and two Silver awards for her work.  The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards are the nation’s longest running and most prestigious program for creative teens in grades 7-12. Only .006% of students receive a national award! Thanks to our Art Department teachers who encourage students to enter these contests each year, with amazing success.
