Millburn High School graduation ceremony on June 22, 2023.
Congatulations! and farewell to the Class of 2023. As a class that has had its share of challenges, from a pandemic beginning in their Freshmen year, to Hurricane Ida, and a drizzly day for commencement, we know they will continue to persevere and succeed. To new beginnings!
Dr. Miron shared the importance of making choices and difficult decisions, with examples from Yoda, Forrest Gump and the Wizard of Oz. He also gave a special thank you and farewell to two staff members who have recently announced they will be leaving Millburn High School for other pursuits. Best wishes to school nurse, Leora Wiener, and Athletic Director, Frank Bifulco. You will be missed!
Two retiring high school English teachers, Mrs. Ellen Hayes, and Mrs. Ellen Krueger received the Sally deVeer Award for Excellence in Teaching.
Class President, Evan Shidler reminded the Class of 23 that they all belong together, and will carry the essence of their years together into the future.
Dr. Burton talked about the road to success – and that it starts with you. “Success is not a place you can visit; it is not a thing you can buy. Success can not be handed down to you, nor can it be taken away from you. Allow yourself to write your own success story to shine bright. I challenge you to explore your future, courageously, and define your own success story with pride.”
