Acker Park Reconstruction receives $1.5 Million in State Aid Funding

Acker Park Reconstruction Project

The Borough of Roselle Park recently announced it will receive $1.5 million in state aid funding toward the Acker Park Reconstruction Project as part of the Fiscal Year 2024 New Jersey State Budget. This funding will be used locally to support the complete overhaul and improvement of Acker Park on the east side of the community.

The Acker Park Reconstruction Project is a playground/park renovation intended to meet the diverse and changing needs of the Borough of Roselle Park. Among various aesthetic improvements and recreational features, ADA accessible equipment will be a new addition to the park and will be integrated into the final playground design.

Acker Park, located on the intersection of Lehigh Avenue and Woodland Avenue in Roselle Park, serves a very densely populated residential area, in close proximity to schools, and the Borough of Roselle Park’s municipal borders with the City of Elizabeth, Township of Union, and Borough of Kenilworth. To this end, the park is historically viewed as an attraction for local residents and visitors alike.
