Michael Sot Honored by Clark Township

Michael Sot Honored at Somerset Patriots Ballpark

On Friday, June 28, 2019, the Township of Clark gathered at the Somerset Patriots ballpark to honor one of their own, Michael Sot, a 20-year-old Clark resident who was killed in December.

Michael was the designated driver for his fraternity at the College of NJ when a drunk driver hit his car head on. Clark Police Det. Brian Soos and Recreation Director Ralph Bernardo came up with a fundraising event held at the stadium, to raise money in Michael’s name in order to purchase a “HERO” billboard to be displayed on a local highway in NJ. The Hero Program promotes the importance of designated drivers, encouraging drivers to be a ‘Hero’. The event sold 780 tickets and was well attended by many Clarkeites.
