Message from Linden Citizens’ Association President

Submitted by Rich Gerbounka

The Linden Citizens’ Association would like to remind everyone that there is a primary election for Democrats and Republicans on Tuesday, June 5th. The Mayor, Council President,1st and 9th Ward Council seats are all up for election. The last day for filing your petition signatures for any of these offices in New Jersey’s Primary Election is 4 p.m. on Monday April 2nd. The winners of these races will then be eligible to represent their party on Tuesday, November 6th in New Jersey’s General Election. An Independent candidate can only run for one of these seats in the General Election and has until Tuesday, June 5th (same day as the Primary election) to file their petition for one of these contested positions. Three positions for Linden’s elected School Board will also be on the ballot in the November General Election. The last day to file for any one of these positions is Monday, July 30th. If any member knows of any eligible voter that wants to serve our City or School Board, we are available to assist them through this process. When all the petitions have been filed our Executive Board will meet with all the candidates and endorse who we feel will represent the best interests of Linden regardless of party affiliation.
