Meet Around the Table During Berkeley Heights Restaurant Week, September 9 – 16

Diners from Union, Morris, and Somerset County will enjoy good food, good deals, and good times with family and friends during Berkeley Heights’ second annual Restaurant Week. The event begins on Sunday September 9, 2018 and will run until Sunday September 16. 25 establishments will offer special menus and special pricing on breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. Diners can choose to dine in or take out and several restaurants also offer delivery. Liquor stores will offer specials and pairing suggestions.

Christin Babic, member of the Downtown Beautification Committee, said: “Restaurant Week is about connecting with friends and family over food, and it’s for everyone: young and old, commuters and homemakers, for weekday lunch dates and afterschool snack time. Busy professionals can enjoy a delicious and convenient dinner after a busy workday. Parents will find on every menu healthy choices for the family — some even offer vegan choices. Seniors can connect with friends. Restaurant Week is the perfect time to visit your favorite food establishments and try new places.”

Participating establishments are: Berkeley News & Convenience Store, Berkeley Wines – Vine Republic, Charcoal (formerly Sherman’s BBQ), Country Farm Stores, Delicious Heights, Devour Creative Catering, DiMaios Cucina, Dunkin Donuts, Giovanni’s Bistro Bar and Catering, Goodman’s Deli and Restaurant, Grain & Cain Bar & Table, Hacienda Mexican Restaurant & Grill, Hop Hing, Kawee Thai, LaRosa Chicken & Grill, Lifetime, Marcello’s Pizzeria & Ristorante, Nagoya Sushi Restaurant & Tiki Bar, Neelam Fine Indian Cuisine, Proud Thai Cookery, Seoulite’s Restaurant, Station House Café, Strega Bistro, Subzone-Home of the Jersey Jammer, and Trap Rock Restaurant & Brewery.

Last year’s popular Passport promotion, which offers diners the opportunity to win prizes, is back this year and is easier to use. Diners simply pick up a Passport at any participating establishment or download one from the event website. The participating establishment will stamp the Passport each time a diner makes a purchase. Everyone who gets at least two stamps on their Passport can enter to win one of two $50 gift cards. The diner who collects the most stamps on their Passport will win the grand prize, a $100 gift card.

Berkeley Heights Recreation Department and the Berkeley Heights Y are offering special activities for children that give parents a chance to step out for lunch.

More information about the participating establishments, how to download and use the Passport to win prizes, and children’s babysitting and activities can be found at ExperienceBH.com.

“Restaurant Week calls attention to Berkeley Heights, a small town with a strong sense of community and increasingly, a reputation as “go-to” dining town,” said Julie Lloyd, Chairperson of the Downtown Beautification Committee. “Our establishments offer an array of cuisines from America, Asia, Europe and Mexico cuisine, from fine dining and bar food to snacks to go, and liquor, snack and convenience stores joining in. We encourage residents of Berkeley Heights, Long Hill, New Providence, Warren, Chatham, and Mountainside to seize the opportunity to meet around the table, dining in and getting take-out from our restaurants all week long.”

Restaurant Week is organized by the Berkeley Heights Downtown Beautification Committee in cooperation with local establishment owners and the Suburban Chamber of Commerce.
