McMillin and Woodruff Students have Fun with Robots

FUN WITH ROBOTS

Berkeley Heights Public Schools

Students in kindergarten through second grades at both Mary Kay McMillin and William Woodruff Early Childhood Centers had fun as they worked with computer teacher Mrs. Mary Niedenfuhr and STEAM teacher Mrs. Lisa Genua on projects using Code and Go Mouse Robots. Using computational thinking skills and engineering habits of mind, students worked collaboratively to move the robot from the starting line to the cheese at the finish line. First students planned, designed and built mazes. Then the students created code sequences to program the mice to go from the start to the “cheese”. What a fun way to develop critical thinking skills!
