March 2,9,16 at 10 – 11 a.m. – Memoir Writing (Adults)
A 3-part memoir writing workshop with local author Joann Jackovino. Free. Email npmlref@yahoo.com or call 908-665-0311 to register.

March 3 at 3 p.m. – Celtic Music Concert (Adults)
Ian Gallagher, Irish singer and musician, will perform Irish songs in this free performance sponsored by the Friends of the NPML.

March 4 at 7 – 8:30 p.m. – Knitting/Crocheting Group (Adults)
Drop by the Coddington room with a knitting or crocheting project to work on.

March 5 at 3 – 4:30 p.m. – Teen Wii Gaming – Mario March Madness (Teens Grades 6-12)
Wii Gaming is back at the library, this time to celebrate all Mario games! Teens are welcome to come play Wii in the library with friends for an afternoon of Mario March Madness.

March 7 at 7:30 – 8:30 p.m. – Nonfiction Book Group (Adults)
The nonfiction book group will discuss The New Jim Crow by Michelle Alexander. Copies of the book will be available to pick up at the front desk in the preceding month. New members welcome.

March 10 at 3 p.m. – Sumi E Society of NJ Art Reception (Adults)
A public reception will be held by the Friends of the New Providence Memorial Library to celebrate the Sumi E Society of New Jersey’s art exhibit, which is on display in the Conti room and gallery area of the library. Free.

*March 11 at 7 – 8:30 p.m. – Teen Job Hunting 101 (Teens Grades 7-12 & Parents of Teens)
Teens and their parents are invited to come learn the ins and outs of teen job-hunting in our area. Local business owners, organizations and HR reps will be part of a Panel Discussion on Job Hunting for teens, and will feature information on specific jobs that are available to teens, different types of work to consider, how to prepare for interviews, and more. Don’t miss this great community collaboration!

March 12 at 3:30 p.m. – Snap Circuits Jr. Club (Kids)
Calling all budding scientists and engineers! Snap circuits makes learning electronics easy and fun! come and put together various circuit boards.

March 15 at 3-4:30 p.m. – Teen Wii Gaming – Wii Lego (Teens Grades 6-12)
Our next installment in our Wii Gaming series will feature all Wii Lego games. Invite your friends and play Wii Lego Harry Potter, Wii Lego Indiana Jones and Wii Lego Star Wars. We’ll even put out our bins of Legos while waiting your turn to play.

*March 23 at ALL DAY – New Jersey MAKERS DAY!!! (All Ages)
NJ Makers Day is a celebration of maker culture across New Jersey. This all-ages event supports making, tinkering, crafting, manufacturing, and STEM-based learning. The NPML is proud to be a Makers Day participant. Come by the library all day on Saturday, March 23 to get creative and be part of the fun! *Some programs require advance registration. March 26 at 3:30 p.m. – LEGO Club (Kids)
Come build with us! Try the monthly challenge or build any creation you’d like!

March 27 at 3-5 p.m. – Teen Movie & Craft “Crimes of Grindelwald” (Tweens & Teens Grades 5-12)
Calling all Harry Potter fans! Come at 3:00 to make magic wands and invisible ink messages, then stay for the newly- released movie, “Crimes of Grindelwald!” Open to students in Grades 5-12.

March 30 at 2 p.m. Short Story/ Poetry Reading: Goldfinch Launch (Adults)
Women Who Write, Inc. hosts readings of short stories and poems published in their literary journal, The Goldfinch, followed by an open mic for the public.

Teen Study Space (Middle & High School Students)
Reserved space in the library for all teens who need a quiet place to read and work. Tables, chairs and wifi available. Come with a study group, help out a friend, or just get your own work done. Drop in & out as needed. No registration required.
