Madison Rotary Breakfast Speaker for July

On Thursday, July 27th, Rotarians will welcome Ms. Claire Whitcomb, Chair of the Madison Environmental Commission. Ms. Whitcomb will address the aquifer, where our drinking water comes from, the role of trees as buffers to stormwater runoff, and the need to consider conservation in our homes and in planning. Alarmingly, Madison’s water usage doubles in the summer.

The Madison Environmental Commission is a three-time recipient of an Environmental Achievement Award from the Association of NJ Environmental Commissions. Ms. Whitcomb is a magazine journalist who has also worked in sustainable fashion for many years.

The Rotary Club of Madison is an enthusiastic and engaged network of ordinary people doing extraordinary things to serve people in our local and global communities. In 2023, the Madison Rotary is celebrating its 100th year of service to the community. At weekly meetings, the Club plans and reports on its service projects, and guest speakers present on a broad range of topics that are of interest to the community. Rotary meetings are held each Thursday in person at the Madison YMCA on Kings Road. The Club meetings start at 7:45 a.m. and conclude at 8:30 a.m.

To make its meetings widely accessible, the Club will hold the meetings both in-person and online. Interested guests should visit the Club’s website at madisonrotarynj.org for log-in details. Please note that Rotary meetings, speakers, or speaker schedules, are potentially subject to change.
