Madison Rabies Clinic and Pet Licenses

Free Rabies immunizations for cats and dogs will be offered by the Madison Health Department Saturday, December 8, 2018 from 10 a.m. to noon. The clinic will be held at the Madison Department of Public Works garage, 34 John Street, Madison. Pet owners are urged to come to the clinic and ensure their pet’s safety. The vaccine is good for one year for previously un-immunized cats and dogs and 3 years for immunized pets.

Rabies continues to put both animals and humans at risk in the Madison Health District and the Northeast.

The best way to protect domestic animals is by immunization. Residents are urged to take this opportunity to protect their pets and families from rabies and comply with State and local laws.

Madison Borough ordinances require that both dogs and cats must be licensed annually. This licensing requirement includes animals that do not go outside. License renewals are due between January 1, 2019 and January 31, 2019. Proof of current rabies immunity, good through at least October 31, 2019, must be presented to obtain a license.
