Winter Wonderland!
Saturday, February 2
Join the Madison Public Library for our annual Winter Wonderland! This fun tradition celebrates all that winter has to offer and we truly embrace that by holding Winter Wonderland outside in the library courtyard. The fun starts at 1pm with crafts, science experiments, ice painting and much more. We will also have a live ice carving by Jimmy of Artistic Creations. Then at 2 pm, Mad Science will entertain the older kids with a winter-themed show in the Chase Room while the younger kids will have a visit from Miss Margie the Penguin! Younger kids will make penguin tails, listen to penguin stories and finish up with a penguin parade. For all ages. Don’t miss it!

Tea and Chocolate Tasting
Mon, February 11, 7 pm
Back by popular demand is tea expert, Marjorie Wang! Just in time for Valentine’s Day, we have a tea and chocolate tasting! The guided tasting pairs three Chinese teas from historical terroirs with chocolate from Zotter, arguably one of the finest chocolate makers in the world. Participants will be introduced to the Gangfu style of brewing tea, learn how to savor the tea in traditional three-sip cups, and observe the unique flavors that arise from the pairings. You won’t want to miss this!

President Who? Tuesday, February 12, 7 pm
Standard programs for Presidents Day most likely include George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. BUT there are 45 presidents – or is it 44?  Now it’s time to remember the little-known Presidents of the United States. If anything, at least they fill in the holes of American history, and you will be able to determine why the headline question exists, and who inspired it. Included in this program are The Hole in the Donut; Benjamin Harrison; His Accidency, John Tyler; Franklin Pierce,(who didn’t even know he’d been nominated for President until he was told); Chester A. Arthur, a man with zero qualifications, who was nominated for Vice-President solely as a political expediency; and, of course, the ever popular   Millard Fillmore. (Or is it Filmore?) Join us for more fun presidential facts!
